(n.) Def:

A fantasy or science fiction subgenre, told via interconnected stories, which is defined by a complex world setting that undergoes change over a vast amount of time.

Worldpunk centers on the beginning, life span, or ending of a world setting. It takes place over time periods exceeding a normal human lifespan, and generally occurs within a series. The setting, characters, and story lines of the installments can vary dramatically from one to another, as they take place years or ages apart. Heroic fantasy is the most common genre to serve doubly as worldpunk.
